After many long years, we'd like to formally invite you all to join us for a brand new Asgard! We are very proud and excited to announce the opening of Asgard Genesis, a jamjar RP where characters will be randomly brought to Yggdrasil and given a rather simple task: survive.
PLEASE NOTE: from this point forward, this plurk will only be used to announce new mod plots or game events for Asgard Genesis! If we have any Eventide fans that might not be coming along for this new adventure (although we certainly hope you will!), you may want to unfollow this plurk!

: ghosts and dead characters are 100% welcome and will be alive upon entering the game! At least, alive insofar as they will have a blood and flesh body with a beating heart.
i was never in this game because i had too much on my plate but i remember stalking this game because it looked like so much fun. maybe it is time to come out of rp retirement and give it a go!

: btw I'm sorry I got so tied up with shit that I didn't end up getting to give you feedback on the setup when you were prepping stuff, but as it turns out you didn't need that bc this looks great
UNFORTUNATELY I'VE GOT HER SOMEWHERE ELSE THESE DAYS AND I CAN'T IMAGINE TRYING TO PLAY HER TWO PLACES AT ONCE, BUT!!! I still have such fond memories of her here
listen, I literally met my fiancee in this game, which always makes for a great story when we tell people that we met in Asgard, so I don't even know what to feel, but I love this
AND relatedly, would a comics version of a character count as a duplicate/canon AU of a cinematic/televised character; or would they be classed as different characters?
Any large franchise is going to be grouped together, unfortunately, just for the sake of keeping the cast sizes down. So Marvel will include comics/TV/movies, Game of Thrones will include books and show, etc.
The different versions are still applicable as long as they're published materials and not a fanon AU, but they would count as duplicates under the cast grouping so there can only be one version of a character if that makes sense??
For such huge and diverse franchises as these that's really not a lot of slots. But then again otherwise the game cap of 100 characters may be filled with 70% MCU or sth and you obviously wouldn't want that
exactly that, yeah, with the 100 player cap we don't want any one cast to dominate the game. we've been debating 7 or 8 for the cast cap, so that's still negotiable, but the groupings are gonna be kind of rough no matter what. sorry, friends. :c
I also realize the timing is really hilariously bad too, opening right after Endgame and the last episode of GoT so sorry to all my big fandom friends this will be a free for all
I am thinking of like three I might consider aping with Clem being one now her story is done. But yeah good luck guys? For those apping from the big series.
Just a clarification for the cast cap! If a TV show character is based on a comic, but operates in their own universe, they still count as part of the cap? As an example, characters from Lucifer or Preacher would count towards the DC cap (or DCTV cap if that applies) even if they are self-contained universes that aren’t aware of the ‘regular’

: that is a very good question! it's something we'd probably have to visit on a case-by-case basis for the specific show but if it isn't technically in the same verse, we'd have a more solid argument for splitting them. like Arrow/Flash/Supergirl/etc are all inextricably connected but these other ones

: Thank you for your answer! If I end up reserving/apping the character I have in mind, I’ll contact the mod team to discuss where they may fall into, cap wise.
hey u rang
omg I'm so excited by this.
