Etiquette question: If someone does an OTA and there's only one prompt, and someone else replies to that prompt, are you allowed to also reply without it being the same thread?

by and large people just sort of assume threads that all respond to the same prompt all happened without overlapping with each other but without it being weird that this kept happening

I should also ask: Is there a point in time where it's rude to add another thread to your list of current threads? (I ask because I have quite a few open threads, and while I know I can handle several more, I don't know if there's a point where people go 'okay chill' even though none of the threads overlap characters)

if you're handling them all just fine then no not really!

if they overlap characters you might reach out like "hey are you down for another thread?" first only for continuity reasons

but no one's really keeping track of how many threads you have going on at once tbh and even if they were, if you're juggling them okay there's no reason for it to be impolite

for the most part people won't mind ime but it'll depend on what the first thread looks like and how much it seems like it might affect what would happen in a second one, in terms of character reactions
