I think the main reason for it was in case people weren't planning on playing all the characters. Also yeah, I started with the Witch, button combos for the spell components and everything.

Still on the subject of DMFD, I just did a multiplayer quest. Wasn't able to find any parties in this region so I had it set to worldwide, and there was no noticeable lag at all.
