Ardashir has some degree of real combat training (weapon ladder of competency goes rope > archery > knives > sword > barehanded > spear) but heeee pretty much just throws the basics around and isn't very good if you are judging him within the actual style/techniques of the martial practices he was taught

but he is very agile and graceful and flexible and very very underhanded

and by very very underhanded I mean he has in game literally thrown up on a dude to throw him off and make an opening for himself

so a lot of his competency in fights aside from good awareness of his surroundings is in fact just elaborate creativity and the raw physical ability to move in ways that people would not expect out of him

he does a lot of using his surroundings/tools/distraction tactics/etc. he's technically better with his bare hands than with a spear only because a spear is unwieldy enough that if you're not well-trained with it it becomes more of a burden than a help

"random shit that isn't even technically a weapon" are universally around his level of knife competency

he is also very dangerous on horseback or riding anything else if/when he finally gets a motorcycle tho in that case he mostly is just going to run around lassoing people and dragging them behind him, or else shooting them

Mukuro is a tanto/naginata user and a poisoner tho also at this point a lot of the time he just sets shit on fire and is done with it

he is technically highly trained but his fundamentals have fallen apart over time into kind of a frenzied mess

he has a lot of raw physical strength and he takes advantage of it

he is also a lot faster than a theoretical opponent would probably expect from being face-to-face with him which can throw people off sometimes

Katsunosuke unlike these other two assholes is all technique and all autopilot combat fugue instincts

he dual-wields a katana and ko-wakizashi daisho and has enough arm strength and experience with them that he moves almost delicately with them. very comfortable, very relaxed, very very fast. he is that asshole who blocks bullets with a sword

Yuki looks like he would be a tricky speed fighter too but in fact he is 100% brute fucking strength

like, his technique is very good and that contributes a lot, but he uses a LOT of sheer power and his overall style/approach to fights is just very forceful in and of itself

even though he usually doesn't take the first strike
