[valor] Some mechanical concept brainstorming that also hints a bit at some ideas I'm plotting out for another future campaign
Quinneapolis
Party of either four or six PCs
Quinneapolis
When deploying, any two PCs can deploy as a pilot pair, and those pairs are fixed for the duration of the fight
Quinneapolis
Mech bodies are generic, gaining their individual properties based on the personalities of the two pilots
Quinneapolis
When you start, one pilot acts as Lead, one acts as Support
Quinneapolis
R20-wise, there's two versions of the token on page - one where the mech actually is, and one in a small sort of HUD sidebar on the side, each one representing a different character sheet
Quinneapolis
When your turn comes, you act as if the mech you're piloting is your character, regardless of whether you're Lead or Support
Quinneapolis
so, each mech takes two turns each round
Quinneapolis
If someone attacks you, then the Lead rolls defense and takes damage to their HP
Quinneapolis
using their def/res
Quinneapolis
On your turn, as a Support Action, either of you can initiate a position swap, switching the Lead and the Support
Quinneapolis
At the start of each round, Lead gains Valor, and Support recovers a small amount of HP
Quinneapolis
If a character is knocked out, then the Support automatically switches over into Lead position
Quinneapolis
but the Support character doesn't stop taking turns
Quinneapolis
the GM just decides what they do with those turns instead of the KO'd player
Quinneapolis
actual KO happening when both pilots reach 0 HP
Quinneapolis
Support can Overdrive for the Lead at +5 and vice versa, as if they were the same character
連続犬
This sounds like some Super Robot Wars shit
Vehrec
are you going to try to rescue last season's terrible mecha show from itself with a tabletop game?
Quinneapolis
it's one of a number of influences
oh i'm scary
Which terrible mecha sh--Darling in the Franxx, right, good lord I've already forgotten it ever happened.
Gabiluzbad
Is this that thing you hinted at ages ago that had TAZ as an influence?
Gabiluzbad
Something about an enemy that doesn’t even let people remember its victims
Quinneapolis
that idea kind of fell apart but pieces of it are showing up in other projects
NekoInc, MSPM
I love this idea very much
Rama
I was gonna say this was either Pacific Rim or one of the things PR was knocking off but I guess DitF has the same sort of conceit
Quinneapolis
DitF, Pacrim, Evangelion
Quinneapolis
all among the seeds

I appreciate your spite powering great campaigns
