Unreality Television: Reality TV and the Downfall of Civilization

this is the title of an actual paper i wrote in college

i had to pull my transcript for some substitute teaching applications and i found a ton of old papers from university. and it is an adventure.

also definitely found a power point presentation on wormholes and parallel realities where i used clips from stargate sg-1 and sliders

i definitely wrote a LOT about tv in University, although it looks like I lost most of the papers. I'm not even sure how I managed to save the ones I do have

my parents grounded me from tv for a school semester and it was the saddest time

tv is also my life. i used to be embarrassed by that because of the whole "tv rots your brain" crap we we're taught as kids but now i embrace it

i went into tv as a job because of how much i loved it. it also inspires me to write as much as reading does. JOKES ON YOU TV MADE ME SMARTER AND GAVE ME A JOB

i haven't even ever heard of that Oo

luckily my mom has always loves TV and my dad loved movies so they were super supportive when they realized i wanted to work in them

i mostly read fiction and biographies so i actually haven't read much movie and tv analysis/criticism since university

i totally get that. i do that when i read book and movie reviews in general

and ok disclaimer here: this was written in 2005, when i was 21. i don't entirely agree with this anymore, and for some god-awful reason i used British spelling (i had just gotten back that semester from studying in the UK and adopted spelling because i was edgy or something idk)
