Haven't watched any episode of it, so I can't say. But from what I've heard, it's pretty mainstream, and would probably an enjoyable watch. Perhaps if you enjoyed Naruto and Bleach, it'd be enjoyable for you too.
Yeah, it is a long-runner. You know the three-episode rule? It's a rule that states "when making a decision whether or not to continue watching a series or not, at least stay until the third episode"
However, as of late, animation companies are more aware of this rule among otaku/anime fans, and thus, increase the quality of the first three episodes.
"Even though the story was simply being retold, I guess the essence of it is to see how the characters truly felt at that time through them writing their letters and then letting it change your perspective while rewatching the same story from the anime series."
yeah kayang nga. actualy compared sa series lalo na sa last part pinakita talaga yung promise ni menma sa mom ni jintan and about dun sa plano nila nung before mamatay si menma
It's been quite a while since I watched that anime (probably 8+ years ago), so I can't really remember most of the details. All I can remember are the memes
Nah, I'm good. I'm currently on a more escapist mood right now, so it's mostly peaceful slice-of-life series for me (as you might have noticed in my posts as of late).

I am now curious who else recommend you anime.
But err, maybe you should, and then move on.
... maybe I should google it myself.
Hmm...
Maybe this would be best left for later.
