Here's a weird thing I noticed in the GeGeGe no Kitaro subs

Yuta addresses Mana as 'Mana-neechan'

but the subs translate it as 'Mana-chan'

like... if you're gonna keep in the honorifics

why would you change them to OTHER honorifics

I recall Shadow Tactics doing something similar and weird

...someone who only knows the most basic honorifics+mishearing it kind of?

it's used repeatedly is the thing

yeah it's very clear they use Neechan

and also I'm still annoyed they call Neko Musume "Catchick"

yeah that's bad

(or really the non-antagonistic yokai by literal translations and the antagonistic one keeps their normal names

(it's just so jarring and inconsistent)
