The purpose of the 106-2 self-introduction video is to help you understand who you are through the exploration of your family, hometown, schools, or anything that you believe has influenced you growing up.
Before working on the script or video shooting, think about what makes you who you are now. Focus on one or two things/people/places in the video and find out the connection between them and you.
Introduce people (e.g. your grandparents, parents, friends, etc.), things, or places (e.g. a temple near your house, your hometown, your school) that have shaped who you are.
Content requirements Title page: your department, Chinese and English names A brief introduction of yourself The suggested topic Ending (e.g., saying goodbye, showing the source of your information, etc.) Add interesting or creative scenes (e.g., NG cuts, inviting your family or friends to introduce you, etc.)
Additional requirements Talk time (talking without reading) Levels 3 : a minimum of 3 minutes It has clear pictures and sounds. Shoot your video in at least TWO different locations! Follow copyright laws. Upload your video to YouTube and post its link to Learning Portfolio. (see p. 10 for the uploading procedure)
DOs Write down what you want to say. Practice your speech. All information presented in the video must be cited. You may use the music from YouTube Audio Library or download Creative Commons Music for free. Make your video special! Add music and “props” (e.g., your collection of model vehicles). Add motion. Subtitles are optional but encouraged.
DON’Ts Don’t read your script. Don’t stare at a webcam. Don’t sit down the whole time you are speaking. Background music, if used, should not cover up the voice of a speaker.
