1) Do you agree with fandom interpretation of your character?
Roach
I think the fandom generally gets this character a lot better than 90% of the writer who've done anything with him since him Impulse day.
Roach
Aside from Kid Flash Lost, which was damn near perfect with how it portrayed Bart, most of what he's been in since joining Teen Titans has been meh at best.

That being said, it does kind of bother me when people cutesify him too much, or basically write him as having the mind of a literal four-year-old.

Like he's a super cute character and all, and he can be childish but he has more to him than that.

Also, general wiping out of his flaws, and either completely getting rid of his ADHD and dispositive issues or playing them up to ridiculous levels/only playing them for laughs.

That's all pretty rare though from what I've seen or happened more in fanart/fiction where Bart isn't the main focus in the first place.

3) Any unpopular opinions about your muse?
Roach
Um...Bart being asexual seems to be a pretty unpopular opinion, especially after the Young Justice cartoon came out.
Roach
Despite the fact that in his Impulse days he was one of the most ace coded characters I've ever seen that didn't eventually come out as canonicaly ace at some point.

Other than that I don't think I my opinions on him differ all that much from most other Bart fans.

4) Any part of their canon portrayal you dislike?

Oh god, so much!
Roach
70% of his Teen Titans portrayal varied between meh and "how the hell did you fuck this up so badly?!"

Like deciding after he died that he had been sexually harassing the girls on the team off-panel the whole time.
Roach
Like, full on trying to force them to let him see them naked. And apparently, this was something the girls were reminiscing about. They just found it so cute and hilarious.

I refuse to dignify that as canon. It was the only time we ever hear of him supposedly doing something like that, it came out of nowhere and just made no sense.

It totally came off as the author writing his own wish fulfillment, and it was so uncomfortable.

Also, I know I've said this before but all of his run as the Flash.

I will never stop being bitter that Flash FMA was originally supposed to be written by Mark Waid, his creator, but DC turned down every idea he pitched, so it went to two writers who knew nothing about the character and at least one who actively hated him.

Because that's how good stories get made!

9) What do you wish the author would reveal/had revealed about your muse?
Roach
Um...I don't know. I wish we would have gotten to see more of what was going on with his as Kid Flash, period.
Roach
Maybe Johns' portrayal and his transition into Kid Flash wouldn't have felt quite so awkward if he still had his own book running alongside it, to go into some deeper character motivations.
Roach
I'll always wish we had gotten that Kid Flash book by Sterling Gates (one of the few writers who's written him well as Kid Flash and admits to being a fan of him growing up).

I'll always be a bit bitter it got canceled before it even got off the ground just because they didn't want it upstaging Barry Allen's come back.

OH! I do wish we had found out what 'Plans' Rival had for Bart.

They just dropped him making a super threatening promise of having plans for Bart at the very end of the Impulse comics and no one ever picked that up. Apparently, Johns thought it was too boring to follow up on.

I didn't know about the Impulse book! Oh my god! All I wanted when Irie became Impulse was for her and Bart to hang out! WTF DC?!

Also, yeah! The ending to Kid Flash Lost just fucked me up. And him turning in to a Black Flash.
