fresh pristine snow all over the place without birdy (or cat) footprints in it - apart from on the porch under the bird feeding tree where Spot was waiting.

but there was some tapping (on the roof?) much earlier in the morning which was presumably a bird up there.

a thaw has started here.

our thaw started the night before last.

our snow started that day...

there has been some minimal thawing here, eg sections of snow sliding off some roofs and some drips onto the ground below, but other patches of snow and ice are not shifting.

some drip holes in the snow under the tree now. So that's either natural thawing or possibly birdy activity.

the car drivers have reprocessed the snow on the road into grey sludge now and there are also more signs of footprints, human and animal, on that side. They just weren't up very early.
