2017 overall retrospective.

I linked this in 2016, but, it feels fitting here, too.

The Cruelest Year

This was the hardest year I've had in terms of academics. It was seriously brutal, and it pushed me harder than I think I've ever been pushed.

I learned a lot about myself, about what really gets to me in terms of motivations, who I am when the chips are down, and all of that. I'm glad to say I like what I saw, overall.

Few bad habits to work on in the coming year.

I feel like I survived 2017 as intact as I did because I have friends and loved ones I can count on. Good work, for once, past me; you invested in the right people. One of those things I want to work on next year is being there for people again. I feel like I got lost in my work too much.

May will end gradschool. Then comes finding work, and getting my life really back into full gear...

Truly 2018 will be the year you do what has to be done by you.
