🍔 YEDONG...
[Star Wars] Just saw The Last Jedi. Spoilers within.
🍔 YEDONG...
G O D
🍔 YEDONG...
leia just fuckin
🍔 YEDONG...
straight up using the force to fly through space
🍔 YEDONG...
That was one of my favorite moments of the movie by far
🍔 YEDONG...
I am also glad she was alive at the end of the movie- it might be a bit awkward/weird to write her out in Carrie's absence but I prefer her being alive and offscreen infinitely more than her being killed
🍔 YEDONG...
I also bawled at the "In loving memory of our princess Carrie Fisher" in the credits
Xenonucleic
Leia deserves to see this rebellion through to the end
🍔 YEDONG...
Yesssss she does
🍔 YEDONG...
I bawled when she and Luke reunited, too
ƒιιɴᴅιsʜ
(Is it just me, or did we never see Leia use the Force like that until then)
Xenonucleic
AND ADMIRAL FUCKING HOLDO
🍔 YEDONG...
I LOVED HER
🍔 YEDONG...
"Watch this one, he's a troublemaker."
🍔 YEDONG...
"See you around, kid" got to me
🍔 YEDONG...
I wondered how Luke was avoiding all of those blows so easily
🍔 YEDONG...
The only thing I disliked is how... grim everything was for the Resistance. Leia said they had everything they needed right there, but it's hard to feel hopeful when they kept getting picked off
🍔 YEDONG...
Yoda made me laugh and I'm glad he appeared to verbally slap Luke upside the head
🍔 YEDONG...
Oh, and BB8 is the real MVP
ƒιιɴᴅιsʜ
I kinda like the grimness. It feels more realistic and it's gonna be all the better when they come back from it >80
ƒιιɴᴅιsʜ
My big question is did that kid use the Force to pull the broom into his hand
ƒιιɴᴅιsʜ
Or did I imagine it
🍔 YEDONG...
I am not sure, tbh! I mean, they did show a point of him wearing the Rebel ring and showing the symbol, so maybe that's meant to indicate he's Force capable
ƒιιɴᴅιsʜ
He walked out of the door.... put his hand up... and I am so sure the broom moved into his hand
Xenonucleic
I swear he used the Force
ƒιιɴᴅιsʜ
After all the 'your parents were nothing' stuff from Kylo it would make sense to continue the 'the Force can come from anywhere' thing
My Knee
I bet Empire felt pretty grim at the time
My Knee
Not discounting that reaction bc I too felt a YIKES emotion re: that
🍔 YEDONG...
/nod/
My Knee
But there's still room for good to triumph
🍔 YEDONG...
Yeah- there is still a spark there. It'll just be interesting to see HOW
🍔 YEDONG...
And I like the "Force can come from anyone" idea
My Knee
Me too, I loved it
🍔 YEDONG...
I felt like it tied in nicely to what Yoda was saying about how Luke needed to let go and stop holding onto the texts and stuff because he knew everything he needed to teach Rey already
🍔 YEDONG...
The Jedi can still exist and will rise again, but they don't need to keep clinging to their old traditions
Dr. Yubsie
I'm starting to think I almost want them to recast Leia just because the alternatives don't do the character justice
Dr. Yubsie
if they recast her as Meryl Streep
Dr. Yubsie
obviously no one can really replace Carrie but I can't think of a good way to write her out with where it ended
🍔 YEDONG...
Yeah, that's exactly the problem- she was a very active presence in this movie, it would be weird for her to suddenly be doing stuff entirely offscreen
Dr. Yubsie
and killing her by destroying the ship she's traveling on would be an awful ending for the arc they started
🍔 YEDONG...
Mmhmm- there aren't a whole lot of good ways to write around her
chris ⛅
the kid definitely used the force
chris ⛅
I was watching for it specifically the second time
🍔 YEDONG...
yesssss
