Someone tore into the back of my car bumper and ran last night.

So I am sitting at the police station today for the report process

They are telling me I should have called at the scene, which okay. But it was at 9pm and cold and I am still arthritic as fuck with no immune system so naw thanks

Luckily it is only an aesthetic concern but I'm still annoyed

Also I am fine, I was eating squash soup when it happened and left my car at the mercy of the parking lot

The bumper is fucked. And the trunk is a bit dented

I'm gonna drive around to some body shops tomorrow and get some estimates, but because it's literally a hole in the bumper, if it rains then it could literally just sit inside the bumper and rust and then it's a BIG problem

oh man i missed this but yeah for real, i would recommend duct tape. it's surprisingly effective at keeping water out and until you can get it fixed it's probably your cheapest option

i mean you've probably figured something out by now but still xD

I'm leaving it alone and taking it for an inspection by my insurance tomorrow. The cover and trunk have to be replaced so there is no point in taping it, really. I'm just paying the deductible no matter what is damaged underneath

A business partner of my uncle's is doing the repairs so I'm trusting my uncle to make sure his business partner gets it all right. He's a good uncle, he'll take care of it for me. And if I'm stuck using my insurance then hell, I'm gonna use it.
