Well, it's been about six months now. Seems like a decent time to see what I've accomplished since then.

Let's see... I've been pretty consistent with exercise since then. Couldn't keep pace with doing both jogging and weightlifting each three times a week, but weightlifting alone three times a week is still good.

So, doing that, I'm currently able to deadlift about 100lbs, and do bench-presses and other exercises with about 80lbs. Could be higher, but I've been focusing entirely on losing weight, so haven't really gained any muscle yet.

On that note,I've lost between 30-35lbs since the start of the year. Haven't kept track with exact numbers each week or month, but I'd guess it's been about 20-25lbs in the last six months. Might be able to get below 145lbs soon, and hopefully can rid of this last bit of belly fat.

It's a bit ironic - a decent part of the reason for getting in better shape was being old-fashioned and wanting to be able to carry her over the threshold, and possibly being in better shape would've encouraged her to look after herself better as well.
lunoir
Well, not happening now - certainly not going back to her after she threw me away. So, being in good shape will have to be its own reward. Or maybe someone else will appreciate it, instead of calling it 'toxic masculinity'.

Other than that, also still seeing the orthodontist regularly while my teeth are straightening out. Will have to check dates, but I think the main part of it will be done by August or so next year. Should still have more than enough to cover the monthly costs even with the layoff, luckily.

Also, finally got around to fixing something that had been bothering me for decades, although it required surgery. Was a bit careless after the fact, but everything's been healing nicely.
lunoir
Not too much else, I think? I did call a financial advisor so I could set up investments that I might actually be able to retire one day. I did cancel the automatic contributions while I don't have a job, but will hopefully be able to reactivate that later.
lunoir
To be honest though, I do feel like I've been slacking and not accomplishing everything I'd wanted - I'd been trying to get out and try to meet people, but I've been putting it off. Might have an excuse to get it done while I'm looking for work, maybe? And this time try not to put all my trust in one person where it can easily be abused.
lunoir
Besides that, I've been considering doing another hobby or classes that's more physical to go along with the exercise, and maybe meet people that way. Maybe go back to martial arts, fencing, or tennis. And also look into trying out new things in general.
lunoir
And since I have a really compelling reason to now, I can more seriously look for a new job, and start doing some of those online courses I'd been looking at for programming and other stuff.
lunoir
Well, it's a start, at least. It's a hell of a lot more than I've done in recent years - just need to motivate myself.
