[missy] so i heard back from the doc today. pros: not hip dysplasia. cons: there's a good chance she's going to need surgery.
кαтиιѕѕ
apparently that car accident from may ripped or destroyed or did something to a ligament that's supposed to hold her femur in the hip socket. i'm supposed to be getting an email with all of the options
кαтиιѕѕ
but he mentioned surgery and some sort of femoral head replacement or hip replacement, or trying to work it out through therapy
кαтиιѕѕ
my parents said that they'll do whatever's best for the dog
кαтиιѕѕ
but i still feel guilty about the cost

yikes that is so stressful. what's the prognosis? will it hopefully be a one time thing and you won't have to worry about problems anymore?
𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 ☆
hip replacement sounds hard core, I have no idea how it works in dogs. a little in humans because they were worried I would need one for a while lol
кαтиιѕѕ
𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 ☆ the prognosis is that it's a one time thing caused by the car accident. it messed with the head of her femur and the ligaments/muscles around it so that it doesn't go in the hip socket properly anymore
кαтиιѕѕ
aside from a hip replacement (which is like $6000), the doctor recommended this surgery or stem cell therapy
кαтиιѕѕ
it's not a life threatening injury but it does cause her pain and the pain will only get worse as she gets older
𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 ☆
that makes sense, and if it goes on it might end up being more expensive than just doing it right now
𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 ☆
and do more damage to her down the line
Got Bread?
Well, I'm glad that you've got a definitive answer on what's going on with her and that she'll be okay
кαтиιѕѕ
𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 ☆ yeah. it's also just not fair to make her live on pain meds her whole life
кαтиιѕѕ
Got Bread? thanks. me too. my parents aren't certain which option they're going to go with but regardless, they are determined that she get the medical care she needs
Got Bread?
that's very awesome of them
кαтиιѕѕ
Got Bread? it really is. i feel guilty but my mom already loves this dog without having met her
