so the topic is "gamer boys will play a game where you overthrow a monarch but complain about why the creators made it political if there's a gay character" or whatever

you know, the usual "you're whining about realism when there are dragons" kind of talk

and then this one person goes "Well, it's more about the fact it's shoehorned in" and blah blah blah

("would you go around yelling at strangers that you're gay" if the world wasn't full of bigots who would try to murder me, yes, probably)

and all I can think about

is how literally any single mention of a character being not cishet is enough to put gamer boys into a frenzy

Like, the first thing to come to mind was Tracer

literally all she did was look for a christmas gift for her gf, get it, come home, gf gets present, gf gives her a simple clean smooch because THAT IS A THING THAT HAPPENS IN MANY RELATIONSHIPS, and then they go off to have holiday dinner with a friend

Are these the same "gamers" that were the heart of gamergate, and who the alt right heavily recruits from? Or the same ones that are "Just in it for the lols" when called on their bullshit?

I'm not even gunna say "Not all whatever." I'm just going to say some people's parents really did a bad job at raising them to be humans as opposed to humans that only care if you can punch them. It is best to treat them as they are and just mute the shit out of them.
