The Dream Syndicate團名來自60年代初La Monte Young創立的的前衛音樂團體: 其中John Cale, Angus MacLise是Velvet Underground創始團員.

The Dream Syndicate創團貝斯手 Kendra Smith 也是位特殊人物.
離開DS後, 她與 Steve Roback (Rain Parade) 合組Opal:

她離團後由 Hope Sandoval 接任主唱, 團名改為 Mazzy Star.
