[Seattle area folks]
So if I had to leave Seattle, what are your views on Edmonds/Lynnwood/Everett vs Renton/Kent/Auburn?
Luke Skywanker
(Forget the east side, it's more expensive than Seattle!)
kaylin
Would you be commuting to north or south Seattle? Because not passing through most of Seattle is always a selling point
Luke Skywanker
I work in Issaquah.
Luke Skywanker
So Renton/etc is a straighter shot
Luke Skywanker
It's just that like, Edmonds is pretty? And I've lived north of town for twelve years now.
kaylin
Fair!
kaylin
I live in south Everett, it's pretty nice
Luke Skywanker
Yeah, hence the conflict. PLus I'm in denial that I have to leave the city but there's not much I can do about that.
Luke Skywanker
I've managed to stay afloat in Seattle proper all this time and I'm a bit resentful, tbh
Haunted Boobs
Yeah, renton is...less pretty.
Skylanth
I like North better than South, but then I don't commute to Issaquah. Might also look at Burien, tho, there's some pretty lovely pockets there, around the Seacrest neighborhood.
Haunted Boobs
I lived there for a year.

Right by the airport isn't too great, also it's right by the airport.
Lyra + a Player
I live in Lynnwood and commute to Bellevue

The commute is an adventure. Edmonds is nice though. And has things to do, but it all is very suburby for sure
Luke Skywanker
I moved here to NOT be in the burbs
Lyra + a Player
In fact my commute would be comparable to yours since I work in Eastgate/Factoria and Issaquah is just like another 10 min down 90
Luke Skywanker
but imo Edmonds is more towny than renton and everett which feel more suburban
Lyra + a Player
Depends on where in Edmonds? Sometimes the address is a little deceptive
Luke Skywanker
yeah... god I'm just gonna be so isolated no matter what
Luke Skywanker
But you're right, most of the places I'm finding are right off 99
Lyra + a Player
Yeeeeah that part is def 'burb-y
Lyra + a Player
And a bit industrial
