Okay time to sit down and see if Ghost In the Shell really needed a remake.

I mean it's not unbearable but it's basically just Ghost in the Shell except way less thought provoking and philosophical.

That was very strange. They remade Ghost In the Shell but replaced the plot with an entirely different less interesting plot.

In all honesty I don't really have an opinion on the whole casting thing. It just feels like they stapled together a sci fi summer flick with a recognizable pop culture title and ScarJo has some pull for the audience they're after for it so hey yeah whatever

The arc itself is pretty much what I mean where they told the least interesting and unique story they could have in that setting

(There is something to be said about the casting just a bit though - just having ScarJo and leaving well enough alone would be one thing. The end revelation of "well you were Japanese once" is decidedly probably the single most tone deaf thing they could have done.)

(But even if you remove that! It's just still just. A worse Robocop.)

And I don't even mean.
80s Robocop.

I think the Robocop reboot had thematically more going for it that was better executed than this.
