the only possible hole I see in this idea is that we still don't know how Gabriel gained the mantle of Reaper. I'm pretty sure Chu said The Reaper had been active before Gabe bit it.

so if the former Reaper was already a Talon agent, they could know who he is...

Reaper is in a constant state of life and death according to his lore, which means he may have a connection to that through Mercy

who has cut off all communication with old friends since then

and Reaper DID attack Mercy's compound in the past before he and Jack "died"

my own theory on that is that Mercy botched a resurrection and it interacted with his own enhancement to cause his current state

Even if it's a bit flawed, I'm honestly glad that the lore has been gathered together like this, since it can be a bit scattered, ha ha
