so many options! I hope the Peace Corp comes through for you. 27 months would give you some stability for awile.

i mean pay wise and living quarters wise

Personally I would jump on the lake district hike :-D

Wow you have some options. Peace Corp shoes sound good.

Jill4j : I'm really afraid to get my hopes up for The Peace Corps. They've raised their standards and really, REALLY like Masters and Doctorate degrees (which I don't have). Also, they strongly suggest knowing French, since it's the second language of the country. My odds are less than 50%. I can't even apply for Latin American volunteer positions....
Godtess
...since my Spanish is marginal. (That was actually my first choice) About a quarter of their positions are in Latin America.

So, I have lots of options so that if one of them doesn't work out, I won't feel badly.

you never know. they might need someone with your specific skills. and you have proven you won't get homesick and leave your position. i bet many end up doing that.
Godtess
🐾Cindy🐾 : I'm sure you are right, but it's just a very different application process than expected (from talking to people who have been in the PC). They say they accept mature volunteers, but all their photos show youngsters, all their promotion is geared toward recent college graduates. I'm not hopeful. I don't get the impression that I'm what they want.
