I'm gonna be going over Peeta's tags later, but I feel like I should tell you they don't actually know the date in 6I. We use the dates as record keeping for ourselves as players, and they can make general guesses, but they don't specifically know if it's May 5th or May 10th

Katniss could still totally realize it's right around the time for her birthday, she's good with the outdoorsy stuff (also you reminded me I should pick a birthday for Peeta)
