i finally realized i could watch a vid on how to work a pilot light on a water heater

it's nice to know how close i came to blowing myself up

the gas is now off

and i'm waiting for it to clear before i do anything else because i could definitely smell it

it's been more than the recommended 5 minute wait but i'm in no rush.. just in case...

i hadn't smelled it til i started turning the knob like in the video, but i got enough of it up my nose in that time that my stomach has been like

okay i did everything i was supposed to and all i got was a spark and no actual lighting so

i'm not gonna fool with it

i have the joy of either having someone come out and fix it for me and worry about my car dying before my grandparents get up here in june to help me get a new one or

just suffer with cold water and whatever i heat off the stove and hoard money toward paying for a new car just in case, before they get here

i'm driving as little as possible as it is, it's hard to not think of being warned to avoid bumpy roads because your frame may just fall apart
