it'd depend on his background, but if the character was an american, probably an american name with an indian surname (and possibly a middle name that was his indian name, again depending on the background of the character)

a majority of indian american 2nd and particularly 3rd gen kids have both indian and american first names that they go by - some prefer to be called by their indian first names, others keep it for family
