I know some people aren't pleased with the fact that no one in the show has a problem with Victor and Yuri being openly a couple.

And this has a lot to do with Japanese media showing people being Totally Okay with homosexuality when this is absolutely not the case irl

And particularly people point out that it ignores the fact that in Russia, Victor would be in danger, being openly gay.

I understand why people would want it to be more honest about the real world's reactions and all, but honestly? I prefer the show as-is.

It's nice to actually be able to immerse yourself in a world where you won't die or be disowned for who you love.
