I thought I’d give you all an update on my job situation. I find out tomorrow what’s happening for definite: my appt. with HR is at 1345 tomorrow.

I’m praying for ‘best case scenario’ ; that is they reduce the team to just two people ( myself and my colleague Sarah) to manage the show. This sounds harsh, but it was initially just us two to begin with.

The business, in their infinite wisdom, then decided to recruit two further people to make a team of four ( both recruited in our sister office down south)

but we don’t have the work for that number. However, I can’t be certain that they won’t just let all four of us go, or just retain one up north,

and one down south. I’ve felt ill all week as a result of this, I feel sick to my stomach, I’ve lost weight and looking for a new job absolutely fills me with dread.

But of course I am not the only one impacted by this; there are other people in my office as well.

What I really don’t want to happen is that they make Sarah and I re-interview for the same role.

That would be heart-breaking; it would be difficult to deal with the stress that such a scenario would put on our friendship, and the idea of

one working without the other is rotten. Last but not least, I just plain don’t want to lose my bastard job!

Please if you can spare anymore positive vibes tomorrow afternoon then I would really appreciate it. I know I have asked a lot of you guys already and I really appreciate your support.

I am absolutely shattered by this week, for the effect it’s having on me and my friends. I really don’t know how I am coping; I fear tomorrow I will break.

I'm going to sound super callous right now but... Your priority is to yourself. Sarah's lovely and i've seen her stuff on FB, but hunni, you have to be ruthless and protect your own interests first

Go in there tomorrow with your head up and fight for your job because sadly no one else will
