[US Election] I see some Americans on my timeline worrying about Trump winning the election. To this I say don't worry, because worrying's not doing something about it.

Everyone gets one vote in the election, but you can amplify the power of your voice by helping the campaign gather more.

EsperBot
Two ways to do that: donate your money, or donate your time.

EsperBot
You do not need to donate a lot of your time! Hell, you don't even need to leave your house to do it!

EsperBot
You can spend an hour or two calling potential voters from the comfort of your living room.

EsperBot
And you know what? That shit works! Studies consistently show that one-on-one contact with a campaign volunteer makes someone much more likely to show up at the polls and pull the lever for them.

EsperBot
Face-to-face is the best, but even a personalized email helps, and phone contact works wonders.

EsperBot
It's really easy to succumb to election fatalism and think that the result is out of your hands, but that's wrong. You have the power to influence it if you're willing to put in the time and effort.

EsperBot
Don't mourn, organize. Don't worry - volunteer.

EsperBot
If you don't want to volunteer for the Clinton campaign for whatever reason, you can volunteer downticket; there are lots of senate and house candidates who are in even more need of volunteers.

EsperBot
Or even further down ticket, at the state and local level. Those elections are so (relatively) resource-starved that one worker can have a surprisingly big impact.

EsperBot
Outside the bounds of formal volunteering, make sure that you're registered to vote and if your likeminded friends and family aren't, hector them until they do.

EsperBot
Here's a collection of cute gifs that want to tell you about voter registration in your state!

EsperBot
And on Election Day, do everything you can to make sure they can actually get to your polling location.

EsperBot
Politics isn't just voting and protests. It's hard work too, and the hard work really matters.

EsperBot
Folks, I'm Canadian. That means that I can't donate my time or my money; if the campaign accepted either, it would be breaking the law.

EsperBot
But I have a lot of friends who live in the US and the prospect of a President Trump is not a happy one.

EsperBot
So please, if you feel as I do that Trump can never be allowed into the Oval Office, I beg you to do everything in your power to defeat him.

EsperBot
Aaaand. That's about it. Go and be powerful.

EsperBot
BeholdtheVoid: yep. We can do a lot of good if we put in the time.
