I can't un-alpha/ I'm not wearing any alpha, the only things I am wearing are a hair and a skin and a clothing layer. I'm trying to test things for an event release that I'm supposed to be setting up at

I have done the rebake, clear cache, relog, change shape, change hair base, change skin, change group tag....allllllllthe little tricks I have been told over the years that apparently help when something won't

after the character test I tried one my outfits and it didn't work so I stripped down to wearing nothing but the basics that you can't take off

try stopping any animations playing? you might not be invisible, just floating below the ground
