Whether he knew it was a copy or not, he announced to the crowd it was the real thing. The vet later told a reporter it was a copy. His acceptance of it and remarks were despicable. Just like his "sacrifices".

Well the tone to adopt if a war veteran gives you something like that is one of humility: acknowledge the gesture while emphasizing that it was the vet made the real sacrifice. But the Donald ain't got that.

He's already proven he's almost incapable of empathy, appreciation, or apology. Not that long ago, just one of his gaffes would end a candidate but he manages to do them on a daily basis. Some days more than 1.
