Well, I mean, something that makes them notable. The Fatemarked have a genetic anomaly / personality trait / supernatural ability, and the marking just marks them as what they are

Fatemarked can be used for their difference to END THE WORLD so maybe it's that the Sentinels are literally the only people immune to whatever is making the Trust able to capture the FM
