So apparently the new feature for Yakuza Kiwami is wandering boss encounter Majima, who will just show up any and everywhere.

Which honestly right now is funny (though I'm not unconvinced that Yakuza 6 is going to be literally just Kamurocho Jackass starring Majima Goro and Shun Akiyama), but is gonna be v. tedious in practice, I bet.

And depending on how things are designed may in fact lead to no-win situations: even with as densely packed in shops as Kamurocho has you can run out of healing items or yen for restaurants on Hard or higher.

And god help us if they kept the mechanic from the original first two where low health Kiryuu hits for about 75% normal damage and moves at an almost literal crawl while the controller pounds in your hands.

I don't even go here but legit this sounds both funny and kind of scary

Majima Goro is the main character of the franchises' frenemy, a complete psycho who plays by his own rules, though he has his own sort of code of honor. He is kind of obsessed with the main character.

In the way that violent overprotective yakuza anikis could be. Look, if Kazuma Kiryuu, arguably the baddest motherfucker alive in the setting, is fine with you calling him "Kiryuu-chan"

and refers to you as "nii-san" almost exlcusively... you're kind of the scariest guy in the game period, no matter how built up the antagonists get to be.

Another anecdote: Yakuza 1's western release has an English dub that is mostly nobodies or decent-sized names phoning it in.

Because they spent all their money on having Majima, who's only a little more than a bit character, be voiced by Mark Hamill. Doing the Joker voice.
