dying laughing, In law visit day 3 report: Making a Miserable Dinner!

MIL made breaded boneless/skinless chicken breasts. We have 4 adults, 1 13 year old and 1 8 year old and she made 8 HUGE breasts. Breaded and pan-fried. Mashed potato, corn, peas, applesauce and veggies.

MIL uses an electric oven at home but we have gas, so it's this 'mystery' to her how fire works. The breasts were thick and honestly, barely done. Save for the one she had which she cooked WELL DONE.

So your choice was cooked to death or 'almost clucking'. I can't suggest anything about how she cooks because that makes me evil and disrespectful.

But the BEST part is when she sits down and we start eating and she declares how much she 'hates chicken, hates turkey, refuses to eat it, hates juiciness' Given a choice she would NEVER have chicken/turkey.

When she does have it, she wants it cooked and over cooked then drowned in gravy. Which, she did for herself. So then she is studying my cut of meat, and keeps saying 'looks done, looks done to me'.

And it was done, but like, barely. I would have put it back for a few more minutes. I took my daughters food and cut the thin parts for them to eat which were more done.

So she made a meal she hates, told us how much she hates it and how she didn't want to make it but did. Made way too much food that we'll be eating for a day easily. And it's like, half-assed.

like this woman just does a shitty job and thinks she's helping when really, all she does is kind of fuck it up sideways and dinner is filled with strange apologies for how shitty it is. I'm ready to fire her.
