Life Hack Fail:

How much mess will you make putting that in the bottle? Without this hack, you have the mixing bowl to clean. With it, the bowl, a funnel and a bottle. Baffled.

Or the one with ice cream in the nutella jar. All it does is harden the nutella lol.
Cortez
Lol. This would be really good for making large batches though, you could fill up a number of bottles at once and have it for the whole week.

Imagine how much fun it will be to clean the batter out of the bottle.
Tillie
I always wonder about those "live hacks" ...
Tillie
hey are either shiz or just common sense. Ok, there are quite some people with no common sense at all... :-P
(((Cajsa)))
Like the CD holder for bagels? Not food quality plastic and you really do not need a spindle for bagels, it can go in a regular container.
Tillie
Food in a paper bag is all well, why do I need to move it into something else, even?
Tillie
I keep out what I need NOW and the next day, or maybe for one more day, and all else goes to the freezer.
☆Lourdes☆
actually I see a good use for this if you want to make a large amount of batter to use over a few days. If you have a funnel
☆Lourdes☆
its very easy to get the batter in and the bottle is easy to clean if you soak it. shrug

This probably makes a lot of sense if cooking with kids. I know it takes a bit of cooking experience to not get batter all down the side of the bowl and on the counter when pouring right from the bowl
Foggy
And once again, we reinvent something grandma already had: the batter pitcher. That wasn't gonna get thrown in the trash when empty.

LOL I don't know where I'd put an 8 cup measuring cup, I have a hard time finding a place for my 4-cup. Doesn't stop me from wanting one but space is a real issue
Foggy
mine gets stacked with the other bowls

I use a spoon, but it can make drips. The point of doing this isn't to save dishwashing but to save mess-making, of the batter when trying to make the pancakes. Which, doesn't mean I'd ever want to do it.
Fearyfox(Reyn)
I lost my 8 cup pyrex...I need another
Sehra
We always just use a 1/3 cup dry measuring cup to scoop out enough batter for each pancake from the bowl.
Sehra
Although, I think that was born from my childhood propensity to make ginormous pancakes that were humanly un-flip-able.
Henrietta
Cup, spoon, whatever, the point is it can drip, and if you use something on the small side then it can cook uneven while you're getting the next scoop out. The bottle is meant to prevent those things happening.
(((Cajsa)))
I use a soup ladle to take from the mixing bowl to the griddle. I don't use it to measure as that would make a huge pancake.
Henrietta
That said, neither of those things happening is really a big deal, or worth the trouble of cleaning out the bottle, or the wasted batter that won't come out of said bottle.
Dakota 🐦‍⬛🪵
this is what bisquick did with their containers, just add water and then shake and then pour
Fearyfox(Reyn)
I always wasted those - but I use a ladle to make mine and make them really thin because I prefer thinner pancakes.
Henrietta
True, the ultimate lazy in pancake-making!
Amyla
We have the Krusteaz just-add-water pancake mix and if I wanted to squirt pancakes I'd probably put the dry mix in an empty squeeze bottle and then pour in the water, cap, shake, squeeze
Amyla
If I finally get the scoop I want (one of those with the built-in scraper, like an ice cream scoop, can use for cupcake batter) I will totally use that for pancakes too
Ereh
all this is doing is reminding me that I need to make a batch of savory pancakes soon.
