#@$%^!!! DVD is stuck inside my iMac. Seems the drive won't eject the disk. IT's stuck.

it's getting close to time for a new computer. I was hoping this one would go a few more years but since OSX became Mavericks, this computer's days are numbered.

I've had to reboot twice to get discs out...

But only when it believes there is nothing in the drive...

Does it have the little paper clip hole

so sorry.... Rboot does do it for me

Well, it does attempt to eject, get stuck on the way out, goes back in and remounts.

beken : that's a hard one to fix...

Finally got it out. Turning the computer upside down and ejecting didn't work either. Ended up sticking a piece of cardboard into the drive slot, disrupting the spin and so the disc wouldn't go back in.

Then ejecting until it came out. The cardboard guided the disk out.

Not using the internal drive anymore. I have an external firewire drive so that should be fine.

Eeek, that was pretty tough to get to work. Good job. But totally with you with not using the internal any more...
