I've never really noticed or thought about it. I tend to not play from LA because it bothers me a little to smut with a real persons face.

But I don't have that issue interacting with others and don't really pay attention or consider it when tagging out.

And I see, Pan! I hadn't thought about that so much, since usually the reasons stating for disinterest in it have a lot to do with not knowing canons or not liking certain tropes/character types.

I am a vidya, but most of my CR is Animated, book or other Vidya, I have a handful of LA CR, but not as much?

I have never had issues with getting cross medium CR, but then, I don't play anime very much-- mostly other non-LA mediums, but most video games I play from are Japanese in origin.

But I HAVE had LA players be surprised I was cool with cross medium before-- in a good way, they were worried I wouldn't appreciate the tag and excited when I did.

I've never heard that from an LA player, surprised I'd tag back. But I'm not sure I've ever gotten tagged first by one?

I'm sitting here trying to think back through every game I've been in for an LA character who tagged me first and getting nothing.

I mean, not counting players I already knew I guess. Some of my friends who play from multiple mediums tag me no matter who we're playing!

But in terms of strangers, I can't think of when it's ever happened.

I'd say that with Misa I did have more anime/video game CR, especially for smut, but I still had a good amount of LA CR.

With Harley who is an American cartoon character I think I have more LA CR, but still a good deal of anime ones.

Hmm... I am usually good about reaching out to cross-medium characters, but I often don't get much in the way of responses from LA players outside of certain games.

I know back in CFUD there was a ton of cross-medium, cos the playerbase was just that open and cool. Some of my fave CR there was Accelerator with Castiel and Ankh.

In smaller games like StE I think everyone is more inclined to tag everyone, but in larger games where there's more to choose from preferences come out.

But I know it's easier to get CR with YA fantasy lit/film characters like Harry Potter than it is to get CR with like. Supernatural or The Vampire Diaries or whatever.

I'm in kind of a weird place because books, but I generally go with LA PB (because I can't afford commissions for all my characters)

I don't think you're imagining the differences! But I think it's often a gravitate toward familiar characters thing rather than EW DIFFERENT MEDIUM.

Yeah, that happens with me too. tagging cross-medium series I am more familiar with. and like pensulliwen said it's often just a familiarity thing, not a medium thing

I agree, character familiarity has a huge amount to do with it, unless the player is REALLY good at introducing a strongly defined personality

Age thing: in sex games, definitely. Hell even when I played an anime character I avoided characters I knew were young or who just looked loli-tastic.

Yeah, age has a lot to do with it for me too-- I'll fuck most anyone who tags me, but I tend not to tag out with characters that look young and anime characters tend to look pretty young.

Well, I shouldn't say never. A REALLY interesting hook will make me tag anyone. But generally i stay away from younger chars and assholes who aren't antagonists.
