Fluttershy is actually really hard to pinpoint. She went through some heavy stuff in Terminal, and as I've mentioned it's a driving force for how she currently is
At the same time, though, it's also kind of....driven her forward? She's been trying to actually do something about it, which is why she reaches out to far more people than she would have before
And how much more willing she is to do something, no matter how scared she is. Because she learned before; if she lets her fear stop her from doing something, someone could get hurt
So while the events from Terminal still really weigh down on her, while she'll always feel guilty about them, she's at least trying to work through them and make something good from them
Violet...she does have some issues. A Super born at a time when Supers weren't wanted, she spent her whole life feeling that being herself was a bad thing
It got a bit better when Supers were allowed to be in the world again, but now part of the problem is developing her powers when before she wasn't allowed to use them
There are times when he still thinks about it, and times it still hurts, but that's just life, and he's able to still pick himself up and keep moving on
Trying to earn her Cutie Mark isn't helping too much either, because she's trying all these things, and none of them are working, and can't she do anything?
For the most part though, she doesn't conciously realize any of this, which is why she's usually pretty cheerful. There are just moments when these become more prominent
speaking of which one more muse of mine has something to say about thatXDWhich will be interesting when I do app her, because since she's a SN, the whole thing about her fifth birthday party won't be resolvedalso you realize that Flare and Sweetie are going to have a Serious Debate on how important cutie marks are if you app herSounds awesome. Good luck trying to get through, FlareIronically, Celestia herself used Rarity as an example of how a pony was more than their Cutie Mark to talk Flare downInteresting XD
