[Suikoden I] brilliant game design idea: let's make a required game progression event tied to a minigame that's based entirely on luck (dice rolls), stack the odds against the player, and make them have to bet
Exegetic Gains
all of their money each time they attempt it, with a minimum required bet of 1000g (about 3-4 battles worth of money)

where is the flaw

The worst part is that there are so many instant-loss rolls that will make you lose even if the opponent fails to get a score
Exegetic Gains
so far every successful roll I've made has been one of these
Exegetic Gains
And there's a seemingly random chance for your dice to miss the target, in which case you also lose instantly, regardless
Exegetic Gains
this is dumb

People recommend saving and just reloading when you lose but the closest save point is far enough away, and loading takes so long, that I don't think it actually helps your time at all

I think I've done this....7? times now, and I've only ever gotten 1-2-3, instant loss, 1-1-1, instant loss, or missing a die, instant loss
