[Don't Starve] Fusses because I want to talk about Wes' Post-Maxwell Syndrome, which is what I'm gently calling his PTSD.

But I??? Oh what the fuck I'm gonna talk to myself in this plurk, that's practically what plurk is for.

Wes: doesn't sleep much, or at all. Lots of reasons. One is that he just can't sleep--he's too stressed and afraid of it. Yes, he is afraid of sleep/sleeping.

Wes will stay awake for days and days at a time. He starts having hallucinations from lack of sleep but it's still not SAFE to sleep.

Plus there's all the fears involved in waking UP--where he'll be, what will happen, what will be there, etc.

And those are all separate from the simple fact that sleeping is not something he can do any more. He doesn't feel safe and sleeping is not a safe thing.

He's afraid of closed spaces, too, because of FUCKING MAXWELL someone should ask me about Wes' imprisonment it's awful but takes it to an extreme

AND he's afraid of darkness, which is fairly reasonable because where he's from, if you don't have a light source, the dark WILL KILL YOU. IT MANIFESTS THE NIGHT MONSTER AND IT WILL TEAR YOU APART.

He'll be nervous and paranoid and generally just kind of easily triggered but he'll try SO HARD to hide it and pretend nothing is wrong.

Except it's hard to hide it when you're asking everyone if the dark is safe, no really is it not dangerous to be out at night???

Also, don't touch his face paint. Don't. Touch. His. Face paint. DON'T TOUCH HIS FACE PAINT.

A lot of the more overt stuff will fade quickly into more subtle manifestations, like general unease/anxiety, but his inability to sleep is going to persist for basically ever.

As is his horror of closed spaces, do NOT lock this mime in a closet if you don't want him to absolutely BREAK DOWN

He's afraid of radios

Don't touch his throat/jaw area, don't touch his makeup, don't startle him because he'll jump out of his skin or else try to fight you badly
