In addition to formal wear/dresswear/evening-out-on-the-town wear, I wanna make some semicasual stuff too. It won't all be vests and blazers and tuxes.
It's what I love so much about "Lord Of The Flies". How thin the line is between civilized humanity and animal primality. To take that line and dance on it is the modus operandi of the clothes I wanna make.
I want there to be an almost-fetishistic "restrained" air in it all. Like, barely-held-back, crazy from the hunger, but still utterly charming and dignified.
Just got this for Xmas, because fuck yeah Morpheus coat! Probably eventually going to make at least two variations. One basic, and one modded to better suit me.
It's called "take shit you like from places where it happens, and roll it up into your own, and don't be afraid to go against the status quo, because people like us make the status quo change."
This is where I got the idea "scales can work for more than car salesmen, when done right.". Nowhere else had I seen a scaled necktie. So I made one for myself.
Women get all the fun, expressive clothes. The colors, the patterns, the textures, the expressiveness. When I go shopping for suits, the mens' section is so drab. Black, navy, brown, grey.
Tell you what. You just draw up some stuff you want to have, and I can assist you. Draw it like a fashion designer, draw it like a manga artist, doesn't matter.
I like Victorian and Edwardian, but the thing is, men's fashion has not changed much in those realms. At least not for classy clothes. It's always suits and tuxes.
I feel bad for girls sometimes, when they step out of a limo, and all they have is a sea of these guys all in dark, drab suits or tuxes. It's like a fucking uniform.
I dunno who this guy is but I like where his head is at.
