[random who/rory pet peeve for fanfic] i know it's really tempting to have rory meet jack in the roman/pandorica timeline but

jack isn't a human

it is a timeline where earth is the only planet there ever wa

there is no jack because jack never was born and joined the time agency and ended up on earth and met the doctor and became immortal

likewise there also shouldn't be a doctor for the same reason but we can handwave that better

as "there isn't one really, but the one there is is only in there for a couple of hours and is tied to the same paradox that kept amy, rory, and river from vanishing when everyone else did"

so likewise Pandorica Adventures would have had no meetings of past regenerations or jacks.

actually related someday i'm going to just sit down and history nerd myself a timeline for that stuff

because the episode has one timeline and the brilliant book has another and they both contradict one another so i'm like

"screw it i can do what i want."

this bothers me a lot sometimes too. and it's like sure people have fun with it good for them but I will always sideeye a bit

yeah i mean i get the appeal/temptation of it but

it is literally not possible
