Does anyone know how to find really specific, accurate fashion references?

Specifically I want to reference late 80s/early 90s fashion trends popular with black american teens for Bloody Terrible, to reference outfits for Renee more accurately

Depends on what and when you're looking for but fashion catalogs of the era tend to have styles that were contemporary but get forgotten about by attempts to recreate the style later on. Counterculture fashion is harder to find this way though for obvious reasons

Possibly look for photos of the crowds at concerts for specific artists that were popular then?? It'd be harder to see detail but you'd get a good range of people and the AI fakery would be easier to spot

might also be worth it to look at movies made in the era? not sure of any titles, but it might be a place to jump off from

Finding magazines from the era is the hard part

For media....A Different World would probably be really helpful for you, follows freshmen in college, all black cast.
