gargling salt water does help a little, so it's at least partially inflammation, and i took a painkiller so we'll see how that shakes out

idk if you've already tried it but last time mine acted up the thing that worked the best was actually the mouthwash version of orajel, i think it's maybe better at getting in there. helped a lot with getting just enough relief to sleep/get through eating if chewing hurt

wearing my nightguard seems to improve it to being mostly low level pain with occasional sharp throbs instead of 'whimpering and shaking' but my nightguard intermittently triggers my gag reflex! not ideal!

200mg of gabapentin + applying clove oil to the problem areas seems to have done the trick! ACCOMPLISHMENT: No Longer In Pain

what i thought was New Problem Tooth yesterday is... basically fine today? but the tooth getting extracted next week is absolutely not fine, it is hypersensitive to an insane degree. so apparently it decided to kick my ass a full week early in revenge for me getting rid of it soon. cmon man

according to the office when they called me this morning it does have a massive cavity (news to me, i assumed it was a tooth husk and pit of decay but not an active deathzone since it's never caused me discomfort before) so presumably that chewed through to the nerve...? idk how teeth work

not sure they can even do for it anyway if that's the issue, assuming i either get given some really good painkillers to last me the week until the extraction or they send me to somewhere else to get it extracted today/tomorrow
