When I was little, a long time ago, we had a detached push-button that did nothing when you pushed it, so we used to play with it and pretend that it caused all sorts of weird things to happen.

The background is meant to invoke the suburban landscape of my childhood (not that my current home looks very different). Many apartment buildings but no high-rises, lots of communal lawns to play on, assorted trees and rocks strewn about
