*(Context: There is a controversy running right now over whether Mechanical Marie is poorly drawn in points because of the low budget afforded to shoujo anime or because of AI.)

i saw someone say this and while even in a vacuum it's a good point

that did happen

it was called Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer

and you know what happened? It was immediately called out as an awful adaptation of a popular top-tier shounen manga, and its creator got another adaptation right away with Sengoku Youko.

Shoujo doesn't get that grace.
