tidying up the dance committee list, to remove people who have resigned, and adding a few new signees to the members list.
Lemongrass
is it a charity?
sef_lopod
no. It's a non-profit educational & community organisation. They did consider charity status many years ago and decided it didn't help.
Lemongrass
the reason I asked was because of the requirements for registering identity information for trustees (and also, I think, company directors) by November 10th this year.
sef_lopod
there are no trustees as such. There's university oversight though.
Lemongrass
just to correct myself (despite it being irrelevant): after November 18th a charity won’t be able to file things at Companies House unless all directors/trustees/secretaries/persons-with-significant-control have completed identity verification.
sef_lopod
yes, I saw the new restrictions on fake & secret people being announced. I don't expect it will really stop the uber-rich criminals.
Lemongrass
a lot of the problems have been middle-range criminals constructing large numbers of shell companies with non-existent directors to obfuscate ultimate ownership. Scottish limited partnerships were a very popular approach. Identity verification does make that harder.
