driving through NH to watch the eclipse last year was an Exciting Time and it wasn't because of the eclipse it was because even by masachusets standards NH drivers are lunatics
also a mass resident only because i moved from ri when i was younger i am more chaotic than god when it comes to driving in a way that is both safe and yet mystifying and predictably aggressive as needed, so i agree masshole is a correct descriptor
there are. many libertarians of the "I want government money, just not government rules" variety out here on the west coast, but NH is especially Like That
I especially hate that the libertarian argument is often "This effects no one but me!" And I'm like, "no, sir, my tax money has to pay people to scrape your body off the pavement and conduct a fatal accident investigation."
also, at the age of... 6 or 7 I got to watch a dumbass lay his motorcycle down coming around the corner on my brother's street, where I'd been playing out front with my nieces, who had just run into the house for... something. GROSSNESS INCOMING ***************************************
ANd while I'm sure the amount of skin he peeled off his body was gross, it was the piece of his skull that skidded to a stop in front of me that sticks in my mind
I was probably 9 or 10 when a friend hit a patch of gravel and went over the handlebars of his bicycle, and he probably would've died if he weren't wearing a helmet. The helmet was trashed and he had a concussion, I had to tell him over and over what had happened while his brother went for help.
