deciding that because of what she's already done, and what's already been done to him, that she's stuck in that place and may as well double down

needs to realise that, in fact, there's PLENTY of good there and opportunity for growth and love and a better future

Chase thinks Ashton needs to maybe stop expecting to murder tons of people all the time. he thinks it'll make them feel better about themselves. also probably their worst trait, come to think of it.
