Though it was a good way to learn how to clean the insides of these things better - this is an old @ play controller - the board had 2015 listed inside
The temp'll work for streaming in the mean time but I cannot get replacement membranes for this control due to its age (they don't make them the same anymore) so I'm looking for recs if people have them
for my PC and tablet gameplay I went through two Xbox One controllers that both got stick drift eventually..... I gave up on them and am now using the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Wireless and I've been very happy with it and it won't get stick drift because it has hall effect sticks.
I did figure out how to get my Switch Pro Controller to Bluetooth into the PC but you have Nintendo button issues and Steam/games I'm playing doesn't play well with it
8BitDo defaults to Switch button layout but you can have different button map profiles that you can switch between with a button (at least on the controller model I'm using) so I just have it on the layout for more standard buttons
If you want one that is a close replacement for an Xbox style controller, the 8bitdo Ultimate 2 is the way to go. You can get it in bluetooth or 2.4g wireless styles. The bluetooth model has Nintendo style button layouts, and works natively with Switch and Switch 2, whereas the 2.4g wireless model is a little cheaper, and has Xbox style button layouts.
They just came out with the 8bitdo Pro 3, and I really want to get one of those. It's a SNES style controller, but with L2/R2 buttons, and thumbsticks. Also works 2.4g and bluetooth, and all controllers work wired.
A friend of mine swears by the GameSir Cyclone 2 controller, which from what I can see is comparable with the Ultimate 2 controller. So it's a matter of preference.
Actually
Colorless Juice
I was right. There are two versions of the Ultimate 2. Ultimate 2 Wireless, and Ultimate 2 Bluetooth, which is a little more expensive, but works with Switch and Switch 2.
Will still look into getting a spare eventually but right now I'm very happy. This controller is an old reliable and slightly smaller than other controllers (it's not a mini) and fits my hands very comfortably so I was devastated when it wasn't working
Looking for suggestions if people have recommendations.
