Tangent
[epic the musical] Love the music, very confused by the narrative.
Tangent
Like, the narrative keeps acting like he needs to learn kindness is a weakness and... he hasn't been kind? Like Remember Me is very clearly demonstrating that what he did to the cyclops was spiteful, intended for him to live in regret for what he did to Odysseus and his men.
Tangent
In fact, the most progress he made on his quest was via showing vulnerability to cerce? Her showing him kindness gave him his only path forward at that time? So how is the lesson that kindess is weakness?
Tangent
All the setup seemed to be aiming for "show some humility" because its only when he humbles himself before cerce that he makes progress and its his arrogance and pride that keeps setting him back
Tangent
But no? He's supposed to be more "ruthless"? Less "merciful"? Even by modern standards let alone greek ones he hasnt been particularly merciful to anyone.
Tangent
Honestly, if i missed something, someone please let me know, I'm headachingly confused.
